Jesus Saves!

I always understood Jesus’ saving activity in terms of rescuing the dying soul, liberating the captives, dying for the sinners who are doomed to hell. In fact, this is - I believe - his ultimate reason for coming into the world. However, as I came across some humorous stories like this, I got another perspective from which I can look at Jesus’ salvific work in a new and different way. The story goes like this:

Jesus and Satan have a discussion as to who is the better programmer. This goes on for a few hours until they come to an agreement to hold a contest, with God as the judge.

They sit themselves at their computers and begin. They type furiously, lines of code streaming up the screen, for several hours straight. Seconds before the end of the competition, a bolt of lightning strikes, taking out the electricity. Moments later, the power is restored, and God announces that the contest is over.

He asks Satan to show what he has come up with. Satan is visibly upset, and cries, "I have nothing. I lost it all when the power went out."

"Very well, then," says God, "let us see if Jesus fared any better."

Jesus enters a command, and the screen comes to life in vivid display, the voices of an angelic choir pour forth from the speakers. Satan is astonished.

He stutters, "B-b-but how? I lost everything, yet Jesus' program is intact. How did he do it?"

God smiled all-knowingly, "Jesus saves."

Moral: In times of emergency, troubles, difficulties and sorrows never forget to remember that you have already been saved in HIS MEMORY. You are saved in him!

Satan can no longer score a goal against you, ‘coz Jesus saves!

You Are Unique

Think what a remarkable, unduplicatable, and miraculous thing it is to be you! Of all the people who have come and gone on the earth, since the beginning of time, not ONE of them is like YOU!
No one who has ever lived or is to come has had your combination of abilities, talents, , friends, acquaintances, burdens, sorrows and opportunities.

No, one's hair grows exactly the way yours does. No one's finger prints are like yours. No one has the same combination of secret inside jokes and family expressions that you know.

The few people who laugh at all the same things you do, don't sneeze the way you do. No one prays about exactly the same concerns as you do. No one is loved by the same combination of people that love you - NO ONE!

No one before, no one to come.

YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY UNIQUE!

Enjoy that uniqueness. You do not have to pretend in order to seem more like someone else. You weren't meant to be like someone else. You do not have to lie to conceal the of you that are not like what you see in anyone else.

You were meant to be different. Nowhere ever in all of history will the same things be going in anyone's mind, soul and spirit as are going on in yours right now.

If you did not exist, there would be a hole in creation, a gap in history, something missing from the plan for humankind.

Treasure your uniqueness. It is a gift given only to you. Enjoy it and share it!

No one can reach out to others in the same way that you can. No one can speak your words. No one can convey your meanings. No one can comfort with your kind of comfort. No one can bring your kind of understanding to another person.

No one can be cheerful and lighthearted and joyous in your way. No one can smile your smile. No one else can bring the whole unique impact of you to another human being.

Share your uniqueness. Let it be free to flow out among your family and friends and people you meet in the rush and clutter of living wherever you are. That gift of yourself was given you to enjoy and share. Give yourself away!

See it! Receive it! Let it tickle you! Let it inform you and nudge you and inspire you!

YOU ARE UNIQUE!

My Home Town

Though I was born at Darlawn I was brought up here in this town - Kawnpui. My family moved from Darlawn to Kawnpui two or three months after I was born. I received my early education in this town. My father once told me that when he got a job in the government in 1973 he was posted to this town by Mr. Ch. Saprawnga (RIP), the then newly elected MLA from Kawnpui constituency, who assured him that this place would become an important place in the future. It's up to you to decide whether Mr. Ch. Saprawnga was right or wrong. Whatever the case may be, I am proud to be the product of this very town.

Kawnpui is situated on the National Highway 54 between Kolasib and Aizawl. It is 54 kilometres north of Aizawl. As of 2001 India census, Kawnpui had a population of 6328. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. It has an average literacy rate of 83%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 84%, and female literacy is 82%. In Kawnpui, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.

If you come to or come across Kawnpui, visit Chawngthu Store which is just opposite to Kawnpui Bazar. There you will be welcome by my sister who is always there.

You Raise Me Up:

To Begin With...

It began at night on the12th October, 2007. The three of us - me, Peka and Mafela - were sitting in my room browsing through some sites in the internet as we often did. Though it was not an official committee meeting, it really was an important sitting, a milestone, I should say. Mafela suddenly broke the silence saying to me, "Pa Fak, blog chu siam ve tawh la." I have thought about creating a blog long time back, but never attempted to do so. But this time, Mafela's words sounded to me to be a challenge to do something good which I have never tried. And so began the creation of my first blog which was named "youniq."

Three persons are involved in the making of this blog. I feel compelled to give them a place here. They directly or indirectly helped brought "youniq" to exist as it is now.

Mafela: My nephew, a damn smart boy, who never stops longing for more in the infotech world. I remember that, when he was just a little boy, he used to tell people that his "sap hming" was "A Pa Faka." He is the one who told me so many dos and donts about computer. He is also the one who suggested using the name 'unique' for my blog, which I modified it as it is.

Peka: Another nephew of mine. An innocent youngman, who keeps asking me questions as if I am a "Mr-know-it-all!" One thing unique about this guy is that he used to 'spak' unexpected, but interesting words at the 'right' time and at the 'right' place.
The two guys are now living with me making my life worth-living!

Kimi: A really nice gal, whose identity I better hide for the time being for fear of being reacted! She has once said to me, "Hman deuh i la chuan blog siam hi ka chak ngawt mai..." From that time only I just began thinking about creating a blog. I mean, Kimi, you inspire me! Just continue to humour me, ok?

Anyway, I will try my best to make this blog interesting, thought-provoking, challenging and of course, ecumenical. So... what a fun it would be...!
